Nourishing Hope, One Egg at a Time: RC San Fernando La Union Launches Isang Itlog, Isang Araw 120-Day Feeding Program

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to child nutrition and education, the Rotary Club of San Fernando (La Union) officially launched the one of its flagship "Isang Itlog, Isang Araw: 120-Day Feeding Program" on July 13, 2026, at Santiago Elementary School. The initiative continues through the enduring partnership of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (La Union), the Inner Wheel Club of San Fernando La Union (IWCSFLU), and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) – La Union Chapter, a collaboration that has consistently worked together to improve the health and well-being of young learners.

Now in its fourth year, the feeding program remains a testament to what sustained partnerships can accomplish. Designed to combat malnutrition and promote better learning outcomes, the initiative will provide 20 Grade 2 pupils with a nutritious egg each school day for 120 days, complemented by wellness interventions that support their physical growth, school attendance, and academic performance. The project reflects the partners' shared belief that investing in a child's nutrition is an investment in the nation's future.

The launch was marked by a joyful day of fellowship and generosity. In addition to formally commencing the feeding program, the beneficiaries received nutritious meals and eggs, vitamins, toys, and special gifts that brought smiles to their faces and encouragement to their families.

Leading the activity was Club President Remigio "Rem" Bonifacio III, together with Immediate Past President Alvin Ray Mari Dumuk, Past President Brian Lim, Past President Sherwin Go, Rtn. Angelo Dorotan, Rtn. Carlos Granados, and Rtn. Tito Orros. With every egg shared, every meal served, and every child encouraged to dream bigger, the Rotary Club of San Fernando (La Union) and its partners reaffirm that lasting impact is created not through one-time acts of kindness, but through a sustained commitment to serving those who need it most.
