“Grant A Christmas Wish” gift-giving program of the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Makati North

The Rotary Club of Makati North (RCMN), in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Makati North, successfully conducted its annual “Grant A Christmas Wish” gift-giving project last December 12 for 227 Grade 1 and SNED pupils, as well as 20 selected Grade 4 students of Francisco Benitez Elementary School – Main. The project was made even more meaningful through the partnership with the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) and the Rotaract Club (RAC) of Barangay Sta. Cruz and IAC MESHS, reflecting the true spirit of Rotary service and community collaboration.

The program formally opened with a heartfelt message of gratitude from Dr. Paulo Badua, who expressed the school’s deep appreciation to both Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs for their unwavering and continuous support to the students and the school community over the years. His message highlighted the positive impact of such initiatives on the children’s morale, confidence, and sense of belonging, especially during the holiday season.

This was followed by inspirational messages from RCMN President Tito Meneses and Inner Wheel Club President Maritess Cordero, who both emphasized the importance of service above self, compassion, and shared responsibility in nurturing the youth. Their messages reminded everyone that the true essence of Christmas lies in giving, love, and bringing hope to others, particularly to young learners who look forward to this annual tradition.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of Christmas gifts, which brought excitement and anticipation among the pupils. It was truly heartwarming to note the presence and support of the employees of PP Joe and PP Archie Reano, who personally joined in giving gifts, adding a personal and festive touch to the activity. Once all the gifts had been distributed, the long-awaited moment arrived as the children were allowed to open their presents. The joy and delight etched on the students’ faces—expressed through bright smiles, laughter, and wide-eyed wonder—beautifully captured the spirit and purpose of the project.

This meaningful undertaking would not have been possible without the generous support and kindness of RCMN members and friends, namely: Pres. Tito and VP TJ Meneses; PP Joe/Choi and Archie/Tin Reano; Treasurer Francis Sogono; PP Natoy Almeda; PP Chris Bellinger; PP Boy and Yoling Sevilla; Director Marzie Marzan; PP Pabling and Maribel Calma; PP Donnies Alas; PP Roger Nicandro; PP Vic Austria; Mr. Robert Syjuco; and Mr. Ian Alas. Their continued generosity and commitment to service made this Christmas celebration truly memorable for the children.

After the gift-giving, snacks were distributed to the pupils as they exited the AVR, ensuring that each child left not only with a gift but also with a happy and fulfilled heart.

Meanwhile, a light merienda cena was prepared for all the guests and dedicated teachers who assisted in the program, as a simple yet sincere gesture of gratitude for their support and cooperation.

Indeed, the “Grant A Christmas Wish” project once again demonstrated the power of unity, generosity, and compassion. It served as a touching reminder that through collective efforts, we can bring smiles, hope, and lasting joy to the lives of children—making Christmas truly meaningful for everyone involved.
