Sitio Tagpange, located in the remote Barangay of Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, has long lived without access to electricity. But there is now a glimmer of hope—solar power units have recently been installed, benefiting 30 households and the local Datu Saldong Domino Elementary School.
Recognizing the community's needs, the Rotary Club of Central Butuan turned over an approved District Grant to support the construction of a school stage and a staff house for the school head and teachers. These new facilities are expected to significantly improve the learning environment for the children and provide proper accommodation for the dedicated educators.
According to their Datu, it is the first time an organization has dared to reach their barangay to offer such meaningful assistance. The community expressed deep gratitude, pledging to take good care of the facilities provided.
It is worth noting that Barangay Tagpangi was once a known a residence of lawless elements Thanks to the efforts of our brave soldiers, the area was finally cleared in 2024, paving the way for peace and development.
This project stands as a testament to the power of service and solidarity—reaching the unreached and transforming lives, one sitio at a time.
