Bonds Under the Moon: RCSFLU Celebrates the Mooncake Festival

Under the soft glow of the October moon, fellowship and laughter filled the air as the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) gathered for a Mooncake Festival celebration on October 21, 2025, at Gefseis Greek Restaurant in San Juan, La Union. Members, spouses, and children came together for an evening that beautifully blended culture, camaraderie, and Rotary spirit.

The Mooncake Festival, rooted in the Chinese Mid-Autumn tradition, symbolizes unity, gratitude, and the joy of reunion. For RCSFLU, it became more than just a celebration of culture—it was a celebration of the bonds that strengthen the club’s heartbeat. The playful dice game, a highlight of the evening, filled the room with excitement as participants shared good fortune, laughter, and stories that deepened the fellowship among Rotarians and their families.

RCSFLU continues to create meaningful spaces where fellowship meets purpose. Events like the Mooncake Festival echo Rotary’s Areas of Focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, as well as Community Economic Development, by promoting cultural appreciation, friendship, and family togetherness—key elements in fostering peaceful, connected communities.
