RC San Fernando La Union's Water for Life Stations gain Media Spotlight

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) continues to make a strong impact in the wake of Typhoon Emong, as its relief operations and Water for Life project were recently featured in several major media platforms—including Aksyon Radyo, Love Radio La Union, Regional News Group (RNG) Luzon, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the official communication channels of the City Government of San Fernando.

The club swiftly mobilized aid for families in hard-hit communities, distributing essential relief goods such as rice, bread, canned goods, towels, banigs, coffee, clothing, medicines and blankets to affected families in Barangays Baraoas, Catbangen, San Agustin, Poro, Cabaroan, Sevilla, Sagayad, Ilocanos Sur and Ilocanos Norte. Alongside this, RCSFLU activated its Water for Life stations at San Fernando North Central School and Catbangen Central School, providing free, clean drinking water to residents in need—especially vital in the aftermath of the typhoon when water supply was compromised.

Clean water is a basic necessity that becomes even more critical during disasters, as it helps prevent disease and supports overall community health.

Through these efforts, RCSFLU not only addressed immediate needs but also contributed to safeguarding public well-being.

The widespread media coverage brought attention to the club’s unwavering commitment to service above self, showing how collaborative action and timely response can bring hope and relief to those in crisis. The recognition also highlights the importance of sustaining community partnerships and preparedness in the face of natural disasters.

RCSFLU extends its gratitude to all Rotarians, partners, and volunteers who helped make these efforts possible, and continues to call on others to be part of its mission of compassion and resilience.
